  3. A hispanic soldier asked me to make it. I think it actually makes fun of white people.

  5. HAHA! Classic! I had a PSG look me dead in the eyes and call me Lopez for an entire conversation and I just let him do it until he was done talking. When I reminded him that I was NOT Lopez, he just said, "Well you knew I was talking to you". I also had a Major who introduce me as Vasquez (and the other Hispanic guy with me was introduced as Velasquez. His name is Marquez)in a room full of field grade and flag officers and Afghans. (figured that wasn't the best time to correct him) And I've also been called Gonzales and Sanchez and every other Hispanic sounding name that ends in "EZ". MY name is Martinez. I wear it on my chest. Yet this happens all the time. So to the first comment, This is NOT "Blatantly Racist". This happens all the time and the perpetrators are normally just easily confused. This is the Army after all.

  7. Not making the effort to get someone's name right makes you a lazy leader. It isn't disrespect to correct someone on your name or your rank.
